Clinical Hypnotherapy
For a number of challenges many of us face in daily life hypnotherapy can be an effective route to resolution. It forms one of the cornerstones of may aspects of my work with clients. I use hypnotherapy as part of many of the interventions offered, but laos specifically for fears, phobias, self-esteem, self-confidence, sports performance, inner conflict resolution, aggression and early life experiences. The hypnotic state makes a person better able to respond to suggestions. Hypnosis can help a person change certain behaviors, such as stopping smoking or nail-biting. It can also help change perceptions and sensations, which can be particularly useful in treating pain
Trauma Therapy
One of my specialties is in the resolution of trauma, PTSD and CPTSD. Using the techniques I also deliver via the training courses I run for other therapists I use a variety of techniques to move beyond their traumatised self, celebrate the resilience of being a trauma survivor and reconnect back to life and the community. Using widely respected techniques the traumatic self is carefully and compasionalty unravelled, leading to true, life long healing. This work involves a variety of therapeutic modalities, which may include, breathwork, relaxation, meditation, talk therapy and hypnotherapy.
Anxiety
Anxiety is a global malaise affecting a significant proportion of the world’s population. Some people refer to it as a global mental health pandemic. As a specialist in anxiety therapy I work with clients to look at the root causes or causality of these anxious belief, reframing or reporamming the anxious mind back to calmness. The work involves breathwork, hypnotherapy and supporting my clients through tools and techniques that can be used whenever they feel anxious to quickly return to a sense of calmness,. Anxiety can occur in a variety of intensities and triggers from unexpected panic attacks to social anxiety and anxiety regarding public speaking or performance, I can help the full spectrum of these limiting emotions. Insomnia
For those who generally benefit form a good night’s sleep insomnia is of little relevance. But if you cannot sleep, in a daily battle to either drift off to sleep or constantly waking for extended periods during the night it can be debilitating, making concentration difficult the following day and affecting not just your physical, but also your mental health. Weight Loss
Many of the clients who seek my help with weight loss come to me saying they have tried all other diets, methods and weight loss clubs with little or no long term success. Invariably this is due to the fact that only 1 or 3 of the three corners of successful weight control have been addressed. I address all three areas though nutritional and dietary education, motivation and exercise, plus, the often missing element of the mind. By addressing the mind alos long term eating habits and saboteurs can be dealt with effectively.

Hypnobirthing
Hypnobirthing aims to reduce fear, pain and anxiety during childbirth. It involves learning calm breathing techniques, some deep relaxation, guided meditation, visualisation, positive suggestions and affirmations. Hypnobirthing teaches women to induce a “self-hypnotic” state of mind where a woman focuses her attention inwards, concentrates deeply and this helps her to decrease peripheral awareness. But she can still respond to suggestions and affirmations.
When a woman is afraid she will physically become tense, rigid and produce the stress hormones adrenaline and cortisol. Her perception of pain will increase and this can affect labour.
Hypnobirthing aims to counteract the effects of fear and help women secrete the hormones oxytocin and endorphins which enable her to remain calm and relaxed, so labour can progress.
Theta Healing
The Theta Healing technique is a meditation technique and spiritual philosophy – not specific to one religion but accepting them all. It is a training method for your mind, body and spirit that allows you to clear limiting beliefs and live life with positive thoughts, developing virtues in all that we do. I like to think of it as spiritual life coaching.
Meditation
Meditation is one of the key tools that can be used to strengthen the mind and emotional balance, although it’s benefits to the body should not be dismissed. A major resource to reduce stress, anxiety, improve circulation and blood flow, it also brings a clarity of mind and provides focus. Often it is in during times of meditative thought that the greatest resolutions can become apparent.
A key therapeutic technique which is taught in the therapy room, but can then be taken out into everyday life
